A Season for Peace and Nonviolence
January 30—April 4
The time between Mahatma Gandhi’s death
and Martin Luther King, Jr.’s death
We learn to practice peace one step at a time, one choice at a time, one day at a time. Each of us can be a force for peace and nonviolence. Our words and our actions can create ripples of peace around us and beyond. Peaceful living includes acting with compassion, kindness and consideration, and it also includes standing up against injustice. In the words of Martin Luther King. Jr., "True peace is not merely the absence of tension; it is the presence of justice."
We invite you to join us in creating peace in ourselves and in our community by choosing to take the actions suggested in 64 Ways in 64 Days during "A Season for Nonviolence" and all year long. PEACE IS POSSIBLE!
